Supplemented by optional rotary axes with direct drive technology, the MFZ 4-2W horizontal machining center from SAMAG is equipped with two independent Z-axis spindle units with a clearance of 450 mm for five-sided or five-axis simultaneous machining of aerospace parts. This is the fastest two-spindle horizontal machining center in its class for highly productive horizontal complete machining of cube-shaped parts made of steel, cast iron or aluminum. (first view)

Targeted for aerospace applications, the MFZ 4-2W from Saalfelder Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH (SAMAG; Saalfeld, Germany) is the fastest two-spindle horizontal machining center of its class for piece cost optimization and energy efficiency. The MFZ 4-2W is part of the MFZ family of modular machines with two, three and four spindles for horizontal complete machining of cube-shaped parts made of steel, cast iron or aluminum. With its travel and feed range, it is currently the fastest machine of this type in all three main axes. The result is an extremely powerful and highly productive machining solution for medium to large series production. Optimal piece costs are guaranteed.

Supplemented by optional rotary axes with direct drive technology (depending on the type) the MFZ 4-2W is equipped with two independent Z-axis spindle units with a clearance of 450 mm for five-sided or five-axis simultaneous machining. With the energy efficiency inherent in this machine, further cost savings can be realized through the “eco power” concept that combines intelligent energy management, spindle drives featuring high efficiency and braking energy recovery, as well as eco-friendly cooling solutions for the auxiliary systems. Like all highly dynamic SAMAG machining centers, the MFZ 4-2 W can be adapted to individual customer requirements.
