The Only Gearless HVLS Fan in the Industry

AirVolution-D by MacroAir is ideal for heavy-duty applications with blades from 20 ft to 24 ft for extra-large spaces like shops and warehouses.

The AirVolution-D Model 780 HVLS fan from MacroAir is the only gearless, direct-drive motor HVLS fan in the industry that is designed for heavy-duty applications. With blades ranging from 20 ft to 24 ft, this fan is perfect for extra-large spaces like warehouses.

AirVolution-D by MacroAir Technologies Inc. (San Bernardino, CA) remains the only High Volume Low Speed (HVLS) fan line on the market today that is driven by gearless, direct-drive motor technology and has the power to move a 24 ft HVLS fan. Since its 2014 summer launch, the demand for the AirVolution-D has greatly exceeded preliminary projections and MacroAir is anticipated to be the exclusive manufacturer of gearless motor technology well into 2016.

At the core of this ingenuity is the constant strive to reinvent and reimagine the art of airflow, which is what ultimately led to the conception and execution of this gearless, direct-drive motor. Because oil leaks, grinding noise, seal breakdown and mechanical failure are common problems with gear-driven motors, the mission is to eliminate these problems. “In 2011, we set out to design the quietest, lightest, most reliable fan on the market,” said Eddie Boyd, the president and chief executive officer of MacroAir. “That led to the invention of this cutting edge motor. We’ve entirely cut out the fan’s gearbox. In doing so, we’ve also gotten rid of the mess, mass and maintenance costs associated with gear-driven fan motors.”

Unlike a traditional DC motor, the gearless motor coil is made up of a simple copper ring with ultra-low resistance, delivering a 40 percent improvement in efficiency allowing the fan to generate 50 percent more air movement than conventional gearbox motor designs. For the first time, cost doesn’t have to be a barrier to an HVLS fan, as the entry-level model AirVolution-D3 is the most cost-effective unit that blows away the competition. The AirVolution-D Model 780 is designed for heavy-duty applications and with blades ranging from 20 ft to 24 ft is perfect for extra-large spaces like warehouses.
