The MAB 825 V portable magnetic drill from CS Unitec, Inc. (Norwalk, CT) features an automatic feed mechanism with power retraction, making it suitable for production applications. The 16 amp, double-insulated, reversible motor has a 4-speed oil bath gearbox (40-110 rpm, 65-175 rpm, 140-360 rpm, 220-600 rpm) for applications requiring high power. With infinitely variable torque control and full-wave electronics, this heavy-duty drill cuts holes up to 4 in diameter in structural steel and other metals. Additional capabilities include twist drilling and reaming up to 1-1/4 in diameter, tapping up to 1-1/8 in diameter and countersinking up to 2 in. A stroke length of 10 in makes the MAB 825 V ideal for steel engineering, plant construction and more. This unit has a quick-change keyless cutter system for ¾ in Weldon Shanks, saving time and money.
Integrated sensors in the MAB 825 V include magnet overheating protection, visual magnet adhesion indication and an Electronic Safety Shutoff Sensor to automatically shut down the drill motor if the magnet loses contact with the material. An internal cable routing system helps protect the motor power cord from external damage. The magnet has a holding force of 6,600 lb.

CS Unitec also offers the AutoMAB 1500 portable magnetic drill that features an automatic feed mechanism with automatic stop and manual retraction. The drill’s power feed automatically controls drill pressure to maintain optimal rpm and feed rate. Compact (16-1/8 in tall) and lightweight (37-1/2 lb), it is an ideal hole-cutting machine for steel fabricators, contractors and plant maintenance professionals. The AutoMAB 1500 has a 3 in stroke and drills holes up to 1-1/2 in diameter with annular cutters in structural steel and other metals. An integrated automatic cooling/lubrication system increases the life of the annular cutters by reducing friction and wear. Designed for continuous use, its heavy-duty, 10.5 amp, double-insulated motor operates at 360 rpm. Safety features include an internal cable routing system that helps protect the motor power cord from external damage, simple arrangement of controls for one-handed operation and an emergency-off function.
CS Unitec also offers the MAB 525 SB portable magnetic drill that features a swivel base for easier positioning when drilling on overhead or vertical surfaces. When attached to the workpiece, the drill provides 20 deg movement left and right and 5/8 in forward and backward, allowing the operator to adjust the center for preciMAB 525 SB portable magnetic drill se drilling without deactivating the magnet and manually moving the drill. The MAB 525 SB has a hole cutting capacity up to 2-1/2 in diameter in structural steel and other metals. The 14.5 amp, double-insulated, reversible motor has a two-speed oil bath gearbox (70-280 rpm and 180-580 rpm) that is ideal for annular cutters and twist drills. Additional capabilities include twist drilling up to 1 in diameter, tapping up to 15/16 in diameter, reaming up to 7/8 in diameter and countersinking up to 2 in.

This unit has a quick-change keyless cutter system for ¾ in Weldon Shanks, saving time and money. With a ¾ in drill chuck or MT3, the MAB 525 SB easily converts to a standard drill press with a 5 in stroke for conventional twist drills. Integrated sensors in the MAB 525 SB include magnet overheating protection, visual magnet adhesion indication and an Electronic Safety Shutoff Sensor to automatically shut down the drill motor if the magnet loses contact with the material. An internal cable routing system helps protect the motor power cord from external damage. The magnet has a holding force of 8,000 lb.
