Alexandria Industries Names New GM
Steve Thoen now manages their precision machining operations.

Alexandria Industries (Alexandria, MN) has promoted Steve Thoen to general manager of their Alexandria Precision Machining facility. He will manage operations, manufacturing, and engineering, while working to assure the satisfaction of customers and well-being of employees.
“Steve’s experience in machining and operations management will contribute greatly to our efforts to help customers achieve their product development goals,” said Tom Schabel, the chief executive officer of Alexandria Industries. “His servant leadership style and his values have earned him the highest respect of both employees and management. We are excited to see the great things he will do for our customers and our employees.”
Thoen brings strong technical and communication skills to the organization. Since joining the company in 2011, he has served as an applications engineer, and most recently as operations manager, responsible for customer service, quality, staffing, and equipment management.
He began his career in manufacturing at Doege Precision Machining in 1989. He worked as a machine operator for Alexandria Extrusion Company before heading to the Twin Cities area to develop his machining, designing and programming skills. He also owned his own machine shop before he re-joined the team at Alexandria Precision Machining.
