Sapa Precision Tubing Names New President
Sergio Luiz Vendrasco now runs the business of aluminium solutions for heat transfer applications in automotive and HVACR markets.

Sergio Luiz Vendrasco, has been appointed the business area president of Sapa Precision Tubing (Oslo, Norway), the company’s area providing aluminium solutions for heat transfer applications to the automotive and HVACR industries. He is succeeding Salvador Biosca, who has taken over responsibility as the business area president for Sapa Building Systems.
Vendrasco started his new position on March 1, reporting to the president and chief executive officer Egil Hogna and serving as part of the corporate management team. He comes from the position as the vice president of Sapa Precision Tubing South America and will relocate to Oslo, where the company’s headquarters are located. “I’m very pleased that Sergio will head up one of our most successful and growing business areas. He has already been vital in developing the precision tubing business into the high-quality and value-added business it is today. With his broad experience within both operations and sales, I am certain he will help move the business forward with the speed required to capitalize on the opportunities in front of us,” says Hogna.
Holding a master’s degree in materials engineering as well as a master’s in business administration, he started his career with Alcoa in Brazil and in 1999 he joined Hydro Aluminio Acro near São Paulo, where he became the managing director in 2004. In 2011, he became responsible for Hydro’s Precision Tubing operations in North America and continued in this position in Sapa after the 2013 joint venture, before returning to South America last year.
The organization will soon announce their replacement for Vendrasco as the vice president of Precision Tubing South America.
