AEC Elects New Officers
Matt McMahon is the new chairman, along with several new aluminum extruder officers and directors.

The results of the annual election of officers and directors of the Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC; Wauconda, IL) were announced at their 67th Annual Meeting and Leadership Conference held recently in San Antonio, TX.
Matt McMahon, the president of Pries Enterprises (Independence, IA), was elected to serve a one-year term as the chairman of AEC. “I am honored and excited to be elected to serve as the chairman of the council,” said McMahon. “I look forward to continuing the important work of the council with programs that develop business excellence, expand the extrusion industry and defend the trade tariffs against unfair competition.”
R. Scott Kelley, the president and chief executive officer of Service Center Metals (Prince George, VA), was elected to serve as the vice chairman. Mike Flynn, the president of APEL Extrusions Limited (Calgary, Alberta), was elected to the at-large position on the executive committee. Martin Bidwell, the president and chief executive officer of Magnode Corporation (Trenton, OH), was elected to serve as immediate past chairman and Rick Merluzzi, the chief executive officer of Pennex Aluminum (Wellsville, PA), was elected as past chairman. Also, as announced earlier, Jeff Henderson was elected to the non-voting position as the president of the council.
In addition, four new members of the board of directors were added. The following people were elected as extruder directors: Brook Massey, the president of MI Metals (Oldsmar, FL); Brook Hamilton, the president of Bonnell Aluminum (Newnan, GA); and Jason Weber, the director of business development in energy and construction products for Sapa Extrusions (Rosemont, IL). Elected as the producer director was Matthew Castle, the director of metal sales in the Americas for Alcoa Primary Metals (Knoxville, TN).
Re-elected to three-year terms as extruder directors were Shayne Seever, the vice president of Sierra Aluminum (Riverside, CA) and Charles McEvey, the executive vice president of Western Extrusions Corporation (Dallas, TX).
AEC was established in 1950 as an international association dedicated to advancing the effective use of aluminum extrusion in North America. The organization is committed to bringing comprehensive information about extrusion’s characteristics, applications, environmental benefits, design and technology to users, product designers, engineers and the academic community.
AEC is focused on enhancing the ability of its members to meet the emerging demands of the market through sharing knowledge and best practices. More than 120 member companies represent primary aluminum producers and other industry suppliers in addition to aluminum extruders operating hundreds of extrusion presses in hundreds of plants worldwide.
