The fully electric Inductaflex AL-1 CNC bending machine from Trilogy Machinery can bend most materials and profiles used in automotive, aerospace, commercial vehicle and other applications, from complicated aluminum extrusions to polished stainless steel tubes.

Trilogy Machinery, Inc. (Belcamp, MD) offers the fully electric Inductaflex AL-1 CNC bending machine that provides cost effective, high precision, multiple bend solutions for automotive, aerospace, commercial vehicle and other applications. AL-1 can bend most materials and profiles, from complicated aluminum extrusions to polished stainless steel tubes. The machine has demonstrated its capabilities by successfully curving a 45 mm wide x 65 mm high extruded aluminum window section to a 165 mm outside radius and 120 mm inside radius – a task that has traditionally been considered to be beyond normal limits for such an extrusion, thereby opening up new possibilities in aluminum glazing section design.

The new AL-1 unit is also capable of automatically curving up to 10 radii per bar and can operate with running costs reduced by 70 percent when compared with an equivalent hydraulic machine. “When you start operating with this type of machinery, you realize there are problems with some designs. Our goal with AL-1 is to eliminate some of the frustrations experienced using other machines, with a special focus on cost effectiveness and production efficiency,” says Craig Barnshaw, the managing director of Inductaflex (Shropshire, UK).
