Lee Spring Company (Brooklyn, NY), a global leader in stock and custom mechanical springs and related products, has announced that it has purchased the assets of Clark Spring & Manufacturing, Inc. (Hayward, CA).
“Eric Eckberg, the president of Clark Spring, has built a strong company over the last 30 years based on ongoing engineering support, excellent quality control and attentive customer service,” noted Steve Kempf, the chief executive officer of Lee Spring. “This fits our culture perfectly and adds significantly to our customer presence in California. We both believe this acquisition will help serve their customers with expanded spring capabilities and products.”
“The choice of selecting the right buyer for our business was critical to us,” added Eckberg. “We were looking for a family-owned business run by spring professionals that would carry on the engineering and quality that our customers have come to expect. I am pleased to be assisting with an orderly transition that will maintain our outstanding customer service.”
“We are very pleased that they are our first acquisition,” said Jim Callaghan, the vice president of business development at Lee. “As our company grows through strategic acquisitions, we are receiving interest from other companies that want to see their hard work continued by a long standing company and known leader in the spring industry.”
Lee Spring carries a line of over 23,000 stock springs and manufactures custom springs made to customer specifications. Established in 1918, they are an ISO:9001-certified business headquartered in Brooklyn with multiple locations in the U.S., Mexico, Europe, China and India.
