Protecting Production
Koolant Koolers and Riedel industrial chiller cooling systems from Dimplex Thermal Solutions are ideal for laser cutting systems, machine tools, plating, die casting and other manufacturing operations where a liquid needs to be cooled.

Because industrial processes generate heat, most processes utilize a process fluid to cool the equipment by moving heat away from the operation. Dimplex Thermal Solutions (Kalamazoo, MI) manufactures the Koolant Koolers line of industrial chiller cooling systems that are designed to remove heat from that process fluid, transfer the heat to another medium (ambient air or water), and return cool fluid to the process to begin the cycle again. Koolant Koolers offer a variety of sizes, ranging from fractional ton to thousands of tons of cooling, with standard or custom designs for virtually every cooling application. These systems can be built to cool any type of liquid, in any equipment, to any specification. The design, reliability and service of each chiller is what makes it the choice for cooling applications.
The best reason to purchase one of these chillers is the protection it provides your valuable processing equipment. This chiller commonly represents a small fraction of the cost of the processing equipment, yet it provides solid protection of your investment for many years. Koolant Koolers can be found in many machine tool, plating, die casting, laser and other manufacturing operations where a liquid needs to be cooled. These applications can be especially hard on equipment with contaminants such as oil mist, metal particles, dust and severe heat, but Koolant Koolers are built to withstand these conditions with optimal performance, reliable components and quality workmanship.
The speed and accuracy of production will increase as your shop maintains a constant and proper cooling temperature in the equipment. An S Series or a P Series Koolant Kooler will reduce the number of rejected parts while increasing the number of parts produced per hour. Where there is a need to remove heat, one of these chillers is the ideal solution, especially in processes such as:
- Resistance welding operations
- Laser cutting systems
- EDM systems
- Machine tool and spindle applications
- Induction heating systems
The S Series chiller is available in standard models for quick delivery of closed loop 3 ton to 20 ton capacities with the following features:
- Air-cooled condenser
- Carel IR33 digital temperature controller
- Brazed plate evaporator
- non-pressurized tank
- Water or water/glycol process fluids
- Powder-coated RAL7035 cabinet
- Available for indoor or outdoor use
- Voltage and flow options available
The modular P Series chiller can be highly customized to specification in self-contained 3 ton to 90 ton capacities with the following features:
- Designed for growth with limitless expandability
- Pressurized closed-loop system
- Air-cooled, water-cooled, or remote condensers (blower package available)
- Digital controller with customizable programming
- Brazed plate evaporators
- Sealed and pressurized tank
- Eliminates drain-back from overhead piping
- No possibility of algae or bacteria in tank
- Eliminates evaporation
- Water or water/glycol process fluids
- Available for indoor or outdoor use
Dimplex offers an 18-month warranty coupled with 24/7 service and in-house stocked replacement parts to further ensure that Koolant Kooler chillers will keep your application cooled for reliable performance.
Dimplex is also the distributor for Riedel chillers that are specifically suited for all types of industrial laser equipment. Riedel chillers are manufactured by Glen Dimplex Deutschland (Kulmbach, Germany), who also manufactures the Dimplex brand of heat pumps. These chillers are perfect for reliable cooling of individual machines through an entire production line, with refrigeration capacities ranging from 1 kW to 226 kW that can be easily modified to meet specific shop requirements to ensure your production system receives precisely the level of performance required. Riedel can also work with shops to develop a customized solution capable of cooling the machine at the relevant points and ensuring maximum performance.
The clever mode of construction on these chillers offers distinct advantages for many industrial cooling applications. For example, the condenser is installed horizontally in the chiller and combined with modern microchannel technology: since the waste heat is discharged upwards by the fan, it does not come into contact with other components inside the housing, resulting in even longer service life and even greater reliability. The horizontal condenser also makes the chiller more flexible because the air intake can be at either side, which means the unit can be mounted on the left or the right and changed over in an instant. Maintenance is also simplified. On top of that, the cooling system uses 50 percent less refrigerant.
