Fine Tubes Ltd. (Plymouth, UK), a leading manufacturer and global supplier of precision tubes for critical applications, announced that they have been selected as an approved manufacturer of impulse piping and tubing for the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC; Ahmadi, Kuwait). The approval, which remains valid for five years, reflects their quality tubing products and excellent customer service. This third-party endorsement will help Fine Tubes expand their range of customer approvals in the Middle East and North African (MENA) region.

KOC is based in Ahmadi and is a subsidiary of the government-owned holding company, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. Its responsibilities include the exploration, drilling and production of oil and gas within the State of Kuwait, as well as the storage of crude oil and delivery for export to tankers. “We are extremely keen to strengthen our commercial presence in Kuwait and other Middle East and North African countries,” stated Nicholas Head, the global business development manager of oil and gas at Fine Tubes. “We are delighted in how much they value our products and look forward to continuing our relationship with KOC well into the future. This endorsement will further help build our reputation for quality and reliability throughout the region.”

Fine Tubes works largely in the oil and gas sector, as well as other industries, including aerospace, medical, chemical, nuclear and power generation. They have sales offices in the UK, the U.S., India and Europe, as well as an extensive network of partners in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. The company has more than 70 years of engineering experience in supplying precision tubes that meet exacting standards in strength to weight ratios, as well as corrosion resistance and fatigue life. Their tubing is manufactured in an ever-expanding range of shapes, sizes and materials, including stainless steel, nickel, titanium, and zirconium alloys, all made to the client’s exact specifications.

Along with their U.S. based sister company Superior Tube (Collegeville, PA), they supply tubing to more than 35 countries, worldwide. Previous oil and gas projects completed in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region include tubing for the Barzan Gas Field in Qatar, Zakum Oil Field Development in the United Arab Emirates and specialist work for Shell Majnoon in Iraq.

Fine Tubes and Superior Tube are collectively a unit of AMETEK Specialty Metal Products (Eighty Four, PA), a division of AMETEK, Inc. (Berwyn, PA), a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices.
