Booth W-1348: Strong, reliable and extremely versatile Machine Guarding barriers from WireCrafters are an economical way to effectively protect personnel from dangers posed by automated equipment. Their crimped and woven wire mesh construction is resilient, resists dings, retains its shape and appearance, and allows easy integration of access doors or material-handling openings with system controls.

In Booth W-1348, WireCrafters®, LLC (Louisville, KY) – a leading manufacturer of Wire Partitions, Wire Cages and Wire Machine Guarding Systems – will showcase their physical barrier products, specifically their Machine Guarding Systems that are used in robotic welding cells and around machinery where employee safety and protecting critical equipment is key. WireCrafters Machine Guarding (formerly known as Style 840) is available in 5 ft panel height (with 5 ft 3¼ in posts) and 8 ft panel height (with 8 ft 5¼ in posts) with a 3¼ in sweep and can be customized to meet the specific height and width specifications of a shop. Most importantly, Machine Guarding protects the most valuable assets to the organization: people and equipment.

Machine Guarding barriers are extremely versatile and are an effective and economical way to protect personnel from the dangers posed by automated equipment. These barriers are strong, reliable, and are the ideal solution to plant safety needs. The versatility of the system allows easy integration of access doors or material-handling openings with system controls. Unlike hi-tech devices, Machine Guarding is always on duty, unaffected by power outages or electrical problems. Machine Guard also doubles as a potential safety net by containing objects ejected by a malfunctioning robot or other types of equipment. Crimped and woven wire mesh construction is resilient; resists dings, retains its shape, and appearance.

The basic physical barrier system combines a 5 ft high panel and 5 ft 3-1/4 in high posts. Panels bolt to posts using standard 3/8 in hardware. Configuration leaves 3¼ in sweep space beneath the panels and are flush with the posts on the top of the system. Each post has a 4 in x 9 in x 3/8 in base plate for stability in mounting to the floor. Four 3/8 in anchors are included with each post. Enclosures with odd-angle perimeters can be created with adjustable mounting hardware. Both 3 ft wide and 4 ft wide hinged gates are available for easy access. These physical barriers are powder coated in standard gray, but can be customized to the color of choice with a matching RAL #. The system also offers the ability to include “lift-out” panels for easy and fast access for installations that require more control. Welding curtains for added protection can be sized to meet the specifications of any project, with a number of locking options available.

All WireCrafters machine guarding systems meet the stringent safety standards and requirements of OSHAA and ANSI/RIA. All stocked items in standard grey color are available for quick turn and ship in 48 hours or less. All products are made in Louisville.
