Piping Software Cuts Precision Shapes and Bevels, Eliminates Operator Calculation

Part program specialists that typically create five drawings a day can now do as many as 30 or 40.

HGG Pipe-Cutting Machines, combined with new Acorn Piping Software, deliver precision shape cutting and beveling while eliminating the time-consuming and costly need for operator calculation. Part programming and hole cutting for branches or with shaped ends (for nozzles and dummy legs) is just as easy as part programming and then making straight pipe cuts with beveled ends.

HGG Pipe-Cutting Machines (Medina, OH), combined with new Acorn Piping Software from Acorn Pipe Systems, Inc. (Stoney Plain, AB), deliver precision shape cutting and beveling while eliminating the time-consuming and costly need for operator calculation. Part programming and precision hole cutting for branches or with shaped ends (for nozzles and dummy legs) is just as easy as part programming and then making straight pipe cuts with beveled ends. Acorn Software connectivity is currently available as an option with all HGG pipe-cutting machinery.

Acorn Piping Software is extremely easy to use, especially for operators who understand piping. It offers numerous advantages. Each drawing is specification driven so that a bill of material can be a direct result of each part program. Programmers can calculate fitting lengths, material lists for any number of drawings produced, as well as create complete production lists for each job that details all labor, material, inventory and fabrication that will be required. It also saves time and money. Part program specialists used to creating about five drawings a day should be able to multiply that number to as many as 30 or 40. The software also provides all information needed to fabricate pipe spools.
