The massive machine tool is capable of machining parts up to 12 m long x 4.5 m high, and includes a rotary table with 130 metric ton capacity.

AIDA-America Corporation (Dayton, OH), has completed a major $11.5 million facility expansion that includes a large building addition and installation of several pieces of capital equipment. The building addition has increased their manufacturing space by 32,000 sq ft for a total facility footprint of 180,000 sq ft. The expansion also includes significant investments to increase the shop’s machining capabilities, as well as boost their production capacity and efficiency.

To further strengthen their position as the only North American stamping press manufacturer capable of local production of servo and mechanical stamping presses up to 3,500 tons, they have added a large capacity Toshiba BSF-180B CNC milling and boring machine to their equipment portfolio. This massive machine tool is capable of machining parts up to 12 m long x 4.5 m high, and includes a rotary table with 130 metric ton capacity.

Other upgrades to the facility include a 416-pallet automated storage and retrieval system, a 50 ton overhead bridge crane, a 25 ton overhead bridge crane, and a 2.5 ton traveling wall jib crane. The company’s growth is not only measured in facility expansion or equipment additions: last year they added 35 full-time employees, with plans for an additional 30 people in 2016.

AIDA is a global leader in the design, manufacture, sale, service and support, refurbishment and modernization of metal stamping presses and metalforming automation equipment, providing one of the broadest selections of complete metalforming systems from a single manufacturer: their servo and mechanical stamping presses range in capacity from 35 tons to 4,000 tons, from 1 spm to 1,500 spm, from gap frame to straightside, high speed to cold forging, transfer and progressive die, material handling and coil feeding equipment.
