An in-stock line of CO2 laser optics optimized for 10.6 microns that is popular for etching, marking, and thin metal cutting lasers is available from Laser Research Optics (Providence, RI). These lenses are designed to promote sharper cuts with fewer passes. They feature coatings with < 0.2 percent total absorption values to keep them cooler. The silicon turning mirrors have an enhanced DBMR coating to provide up to 99.6 percent reflectivity. They are available off-the-shelf with 24-hour delivery, and priced according to configuration and quantity.
Suited for OEMs or as field replacements for end users, they meet ISO-10110 specifications for optical elements. The lenses are offered in 0.5 in to 1.5 in diameter sizes, with focal lengths from 1.0 in to 25 in and in 0.5 in increments. The Silicon Silver DBMR coated turning mirrors come in 0.75 in to 3.0 in diameter sizes from 2 mm to 10 mm thick.
