The powerful Spectroline OPTIMAX™ 365 cordless UV-A (365 nm) LED inspection lamp from Spectronics Corporation (Westbury, NY) is engineered ready to go. Whether the application is magnetic particle inspection or fluorescent penetrant inspection, this lamp is designed to meet the needs of the inspector in the field. It utilizes ultra-hi-flux LEDs (lifetime of 100,000 hrs) to produce a nominal steady-state UV-A intensity of 18,000 µW/cm² at a distance of 15 in (38 cm.). Powered by a rechargeable NiMH battery, the flashlight provides 90 minutes of continuous use between charges.
The lamp has an electronic intensity stabilizer that assures consistent performance (the beam strength will not weaken between charges). With instant-on operation, the lamp reaches full intensity immediately with the push of a power button. Weighing in at just 11.8 oz (335 g), it is lightweight and compact. Its ergonomic design makes it comfortable to hold and allows for freedom of movement during inspections to reduce fatigue and the chance of repetitive stress injuries. The rugged lamp body is made from corrosion-resistant anodized aluminum that makes it safe to use around chemicals and liquids, allowing it to stand up to years of heavy, regular use in the field. The lamp comes equipped with accessories, including:
- Rubber lamp head protector
- UV-absorbing spectacles
- Belt holster
- Smart AC and DC battery chargers; the AC charger is available in 120V, 230V, 240V or 100V versions
Everything comes packed in a convenient and durable carrying case for easy storage and retrieval. Spectronics invented fluorescent leak detection in 1955 and remains a world leading manufacturer of ultraviolet equipment and fluorescent dyes. Their cutting-edge, top-quality, industry-awarded lamps, dyes, radiometers and diagnostic tools are built to exacting standards and are used for literally dozens of markets, including; industrial, air conditioning & refrigeration, laboratory, semiconductor, nondestructive testing and forensics.
