ASTM Honors Former CEO of Nu-Tech Precision Metals
Syd Aldridge receives the H.R. “Russ” Ogden Award to recognize his work with reactive and refractory metals and alloys.

Syd Aldridge, the former president and chief executive officer of Nu-Tech Precision Metals Inc. (Arnprior, ON), has received the H.R. “Russ” Ogden Award from the ASTM International (West Conshohocken, PA) Committee on Reactive and Refractory Metals and Alloys (B10). A member of ASTM for more than 25 years before his retirement, Aldridge was specifically recognized for his outstanding accomplishments in the science and technology of reactive and refractory metals and alloys.
Aldridge received an associate of the institute of metallurgists from Sir John Cass College in London, England (later incorporated into the University of London). He worked at Atomic Energy of Canada at Chalk River for 14 years then Chase Nuclear/Nu-Tech Precision Metals for the following 27 years. He became the president and chief executive officer of Nu-Tech Precision Metals for the last 12 years before his retirement.
