TriMet Opens New Office in Kansas

TriMet Group (St. Louis, MO) announced the grand opening of their new 5,300 sq ft facility at 10012 W. York, Wichita, KS 67215. The contract manufacturing and metrology services provider has expanded their manpower and footprint to the Wichita area to serve manufacturers that require expert-level services, from product design to quality control. Their end-to-end portfolio includes 3D scanning, CAD design, reverse engineering, 3D printing, tight tolerance machining, and state-of-the-art inspection and measurement solutions. With deep roots in the aerospace sector, they bring more than 215 years of combined experience and collective insights into the high tech, data-driven manufacturing arena, and plan to add an additional 60,000 sq ft to this industrial facility in two phases over the next three years.

This new Wichita location represents an investment in the region and in technologically advanced machinery: The shop floor houses two CNC 3-axis vertical Mazak milling machines, one CNC 4-axis horizontal Mazak milling machine, two 25 ton hydraulic presses, broaching and splining capabilities, conventional milling and turning machines and other high-end manufacturing equipment. This facility will also have a new state-of-the-art measurement laboratory that features climate control and granite tables for metrology equipment.

For in-place measure and inspection of large parts, they deploy portable Leica Absolute AT960 laser trackers and ROMER Absolute arms. Using Mastercam, CATIA and Vericut, they provide production services for any type of material, from wood to titanium, soft to hard, holding accuracies up to .0002 in on machined parts as large as 74 in x 38 in x 22 in. These assets ensure support for the manufacturing industry’s move toward the Smart Factory.
