FABTECH 2017: Tube & Pipe

The 2017 edition of FABTECH is on track to be one of the largest tube and pipe fabrication events ever at McCormick Place in Chicago, and our special coverage provides technical reviews of some of the machinery and services that will be exhibited to help you navigate the show floor and manage your time while you’re there.

Booth B10061: Ideal for volume production of structures like carports and agricultural buildings, fences, and frames for trailers, racks and guards, the Model 2650 Fabrication Tube and Pipe Bender from Huth Ben Pearson uses a 7.5 hp motor for 58,000 lb of bending power combined with heavy steel framing, heavy duty gates and bushings, and a fast-working 5 in bore hydraulic cylinder for rapid bending of round, square and rectangular tubing, as well as schedule/thick wall pipe.
Booth B10061: By using the versatile Model 1673 Expander-Reducer-Swager machine from Huth Ben Pearson, shops can now reduce, swage or expand tubing anywhere for flexible, creative, affordable tube connecting. This machine forms slip joints, flares/flat flares, ball joints, deep swage expansions and reductions.

FABTECH 2017 is North America’s largest collaboration of technology, equipment and knowledge in the metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing industry. The event takes place November 6-9 and will occupy over 750,000 sq ft in the McCormick Center in Chicago, where more than 1,700 exhibitors and 50,000 attendees will have full access to special events, presentations, educational sessions and live demonstrations of the latest technology and integrated solutions, along with one-on-one exchanges with exhibitors and networking with industry leaders. There will also be opportunities to attend keynote presentations, a state of the industry outlook, discussions on key industry issues that influence manufacturing, and more. You don’t want to miss this:

Powerhouse Tube Bending for High Production Shops
The Model 2650 Fabrication Tube and Pipe Bender from Huth Ben Pearson is ideal for volume production of structures like carports and agricultural buildings, fences, frames for trailers, racks and guards, and their Model 1673 Expander-Reducer-Swager machine can form slip joints, flares/flat flares, ball joints, deep swage expansions and reductions.

High Performance All-Electric Tube and Pipe Bending Machines
The all-electric CNC 100 E TB MR tube bending machine from Schwarze-Robitec can manufacture serial production of pipe systems up to 35 percent faster and more efficiently than ever, using a Quick Tool Unlock rapid clamping system to reduce downtime and increase productivity with fast, easy changes of tooling.

Highly Efficient and Productive Tube Fabrication Systems
Advanced systems from BLM Group include their new LT8.10 3 kW fiber laser tube cutting machine for precise laser cutting on a variety of materials for tube diameters up to 9.5 in, the tube bending machines SMART, ELECT 102 and E-TURN 52, and their BLMelements software suite.

Hydraulic Plate Roll Bending Machines
Marcovil Stölting 3-Roll and 4-Roll hydraulic plate roll bending machines from CML USA have thickness capacities up to 6 in and length capacity from 19.5 in to 236 in.

Custom Pipe Bending, Laser Tube Cutting and Fabrication Services
To meet the challenges of many industries and OEMs with tube bending and laser cutting needs, Sharpe Products can produce high quality parts up to 6 in OD, including large and multi-radii requests, that decrease costs with reduced set-up times and minimal scrap.

Smaller Tube Machining Quantities, Lots of Automation
An automated production cell from Transfluid can produce small quantities of complex pipe configurations by using an integrated axial forming machine to create geometries or hose connections and a second forming machine for flanges that are necessary on some components.
