United Performance Metals Installs New Equipment
They add a 6 kW fiber laser, deburring and leveling machinery to their production operations.

United Performance Metals (UPM; Cincinnati, OH) has installed a new 6 kW fiber laser in their Cincinnati headquarters facility. With high speed processing accuracy, this new laser system will reduce lead times by cutting metal three times faster than traditional CO2 lasers. It also features non-clamping edges for better sheet utilization, superior fiber laser finish and tighter tolerances than CO2. “This new laser takes our service to the next level with speed, precision, and performance,” said Ryan Getz, the laser cell leader. “This laser technology is exceptional. It offers superior cutting quality and continuous production that’s a real game changer for our customers.” To accompany the new laser, the shop also installed a new 48 in ARKU Leveler and a 36 in Timesaver that ensures gently deburred, flat and stress-free parts.
