Hudson Tool Steel Corporation (Anaheim, CA) recently installed an NC-controlled Amada VM3800 plate saw in their California facility, the seventh new Amada saw they have purchased over the past ten months for their three processing and distribution facilities. Including the VM3800, they have installed three HA250Ws, one HA400W, one PC430X and one VM2500, bringing the total number of premium saws to 29 units that are spread over operations in California, North Carolina, and New Hampshire to deliver cut-to-order, on-size or oversize materials, including precision ground flat stock, standard flat or round bar stock and drill rod, with most orders shipping same day or next day from centrally located distribution centers.
The VM3800 can cut materials up to 150 in long x 24 in wide, all with NC precision. With a workload capacity of 26,450 lb, material can be stacked for further efficiency, passing the value on to customers through shorter lead times and competitive pricing. “Tool steel customers need quick deliveries,” noted Rick Resner, the president of Hudson Tool Steel. “Sawing technology continues to advance, bringing greater speed and tighter cutting tolerances that gives us the ability to give them the highest quality cut product in a hurry. We have aggressive plans to continue adding new saws, as well as grinding and boring equipment, throughout 2018 and 2019.”
For the past 15 years, the company has been supplying high quality tool steels in all standard grades and sizes, as well as high speed steel and specialty grades.
