Magid® Glove & Safety Manufacturing Company LLC (Romeoville, IL) has expanded their clothing line to include the FR flame resistant welding jacket (Item 1837GRTW) that features ANSI Cut Level 4 sleeves and a breathable FR mesh back panel to help prevent heat exhaustion. The FR mesh material provides protection while allowing body heat to escape so workers stay cool, but it’s not recommended for overhead welding or other applications where sparks and slag could get trapped in the flame resistant mesh material. “Welding environments expose workers to high temperature environments,” says Jennifer Walrich, a product manager at Magid. “This welding jacket, manufactured in our Chicagoland facility, has caught the attention of safety professionals because it solves the problem of protecting workers while keeping them comfortable so that their work is not compromised or interrupted.” The FR welding jacket provides:
- Aramax® fabric sleeves for heat resistance and ANSI Cut Level 4 protection.
- Para-aramid knit cuffs for a snug fit with thumb holes to prevent the sleeves from riding up the arm.
- Leather-reinforced enclosed metal snap closures on front placket for enhanced durability.
This custom manufactured FR welding jacket is ideal for welding operations, assembly and metal fabrication, allowing workers to stay cool and comfortable without sacrificing protection.
