Sandvik Materials Technology (Clarks Summit, PA) offers five additional alloys to their Sanicro™ nickel-based welding wire and covered electrodes program that are designed for use in the most demanding environments. These welding nickel alloys include: welding wire Sanicro 55 (ERNiCrMo-14); covered electrodes, Sanicro 53 (ENiCrCoMo-1); Sanicro 54 (ENiCrMo-10); Sanicro 56 (ENiCrMo-4); and Sanicro 59 (ENiCrMo-13). Complementing these is the Sandvik 69S flux that is specifically designed for ESW high speed cladding of nickel based welding strip. “Innovative materials such as these nickel alloys achieve greater consistency between heats and batches and represent a real milestone for the welding industry, allowing for trouble-free welding and high quality welding joints,” said Peter Stones, a global product manager with Sandvik Materials Technology. “Not only do they reduce costs and improve quality, they also determine how this type of work will be done in the future. This means that they can make a real difference to welders’ lives.”

Sandvik also offers a super duplex filler wire for welding specifications that specify type UNS 32760, and has developed a Welding Handbook app for on-the-job functionality to meet the requirements of welding professionals when planning and performing welding projects. It can be downloaded from the company website, along with a dedicated Welding App for smartphones that provides extensive information on the planning and execution of welding operations and includes calculators for assessing various welding challenges.
