DVS Technology Group (Dietzenbach, Germany) is further extending their Machine Tools & Automation sector by taking multiple stakes in rbc robotics® Fördertechnik GmbH (Bad Camberg, Germany), which specializes in automation, including camera-guided robot systems for machine tools. With 35 employees, they achieved a turnover of around 7 million euros in the fiscal year 2017.
“This collaboration with the DVS Group will give us a very good basis for further continued growth,” commented Stefan Becker, a director of rbc robotics. Certified as a system partner by well-known industrial robot manufacturers, such as ABB and KUKA, this medium-sized automation supplier has been able to make a name for themselves as a specialist for camera-supported automation systems over the past few years.
“Alongside project-specific synergies with the mechanical engineers at DVS, we will also be able to present ourselves better on an international level,” added Frank Götz, another director of rbc robotics. “We are convinced that this is a good strategic and operative match. In the mid-term, their automation and robotic systems will play a decisive role in our systems for the series production of drive components,” explained Josef Preis, the chairman of the board of the DVS Group.
rbc Fördertechnik GmbH is now the twelfth operating company within the DVS Group, and during the transaction, they were advised by Allbera GmbH (Karlsbad, Germany) in terms of merger and acquisition and in legal matters by Bryan Cave LLP (St. Louis, MO).
