ESAB will give away two welding systems as part of their 2018 Weld It Forward Giveaway to celebrate National Welding Month in April: a Rebel EMP 235ic multiprocess welder with cart and a SENTINEL A50 auto-darkening helmet. To “weld it forward,” the contest winner can nominate a high school or post-secondary school of their choice, and the company will award the school with a Rebel 235 with welding cart and ten SENTINEL welding helmets.

ESAB Welding & Cutting Products (Florence, SC) will give away two welding systems as part of their 2018 Weld It Forward Giveaway to celebrate National Welding Month in April. One lucky person will win a Rebel™ EMP 235ic multiprocess welder with cart and a SENTINEL™ A50 auto-darkening helmet. To “weld it forward,” the contest winner can nominate a high school or post-secondary school of their choice, and the company will award the school with a Rebel 235 with welding cart and ten SENTINEL welding helmets. The approximate retail value of the school award is $3,599, while the value of the individual prize is $2,899. Entries will be accepted online from April 6-30 at esab.com/welditforward and the winner will be announced Tuesday, May 1, on the company’s Facebook page.

In addition to the grand prize drawn at the end of the month, ESAB is offering weekly opportunities to win swag. Visit their Facebook page each Wednesday during April and participate in their welding trivia contest. Trivia contest and grand prize winners will be announced on their Facebook page.

“Our Weld It Forward theme to support technical education has caught fire since we announced it last year and made it the central focus of our student contest,” says Bill Wehrman of North American marketing communications at ESAB. “Earlier, we awarded a $20,000 equipment and filler metal package to each of the winning schools from our inaugural Weld It Forward student contest. We plan to announce details of the 2018 student contest later this summer, but our focus now is on National Welding Month.”

The winning schools are Maple Mountain High School (Spanish Fork, UT) and Pickens Technical College (Aurora, CO). Students from Maple Mountain High School fabricated three tables that were donated to families in Mexico by team members on a humanitarian trip in December. Students form Pickens Technical College fabricated a wheel chair ramp for fellow welding student Noah Williams, who was paralyzed in a car accident last year but is back in the shop and literally pushing himself to pursue a welding-related career.
