Hypertherm Receives Recognition
Forbes honors them as one of the 500 Best Midsize Employers in America.

Hypertherm Inc. (Hanover, N.H), a U.S.-based manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, has been selected as an America’s Best honoree by Forbes Magazine, earning the number 30 spot on the list of the 500 Best Midsize Employers and the number two spot among engineering and manufacturing companies. Forbes teamed up with market research company Statista, Inc. (New York, NY) to pinpoint the companies liked best by employees. The rankings are divided into two lists: one for large companies with more than 5,000 employees, and another for midsize companies (like Hypertherm) who employ between 1,000 and 5,000 people.
“We are honored by our inclusion on this list of America’s Best Employers for 2018. It’s a testament to the culture created upon our founding 50 years ago and the foresight shown by founder Dick Couch, and his wife and business partner Barbara Couch, in supporting our transition to a 100 percent employee owned company,” said Evan Smith, the president and the chief executive officer of Hypertherm. “Our highly engaged team of associates, whose belief in shared rewards and a triple-bottom line management approach, is enabling us to bring about positive change, while simultaneously creating shared value for our customers and community.” The 100 percent associate-owned company, consistently named a best place to work, has more than 1,400 associates along with operations and partner representation worldwide.
To create the list, Statista surveyed 30,000 Americans working for both large and midsize employers. Surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions. Respondents were asked to rate the likelihood of recommending their employer to others, in addition to answering questions related to working conditions, salary, potential for development and company image. Respondents also had the opportunity to nominate organizations in industries outside their own. The final list ranks the employers receiving the most recommendations.
