Kitagawa-NorthTech, Inc. (Schamburg, IL), a manufacturer of standard chucks, advanced chucks, custom engineered workholding and steady rests, was awarded a certificate of safety from National Tooling & Machining Association (NTMA; Cleveland, OH) for their outstanding safety performance record in 2017. The award also cites, the company’s safety record is among the best in the workholding industry. A company’s eligibility to receive this award is determined by a calculation using the number of injuries versus the total number of man-hours worked in that calendar year. Those eligible to receive this award are among the best in the industry and something the owner and employees should be proud of.
“We are proud to have earned the NTMA Safety Performance Certificate for our 2017 safety record,” stated Veronica Horta, the operations coordinator. “As an in-house manufacturer of customer workholding and fixtures, chuck modifications and repair and rebuild service for our chucks, rotary tables and hydraulic cylinders, achieving the highest safety performance is our number one goal.”
The NTMA’s Annual Safety Award Survey is based on the OSHA Form 300A which Federal Law requires companies with more than ten employees to complete and post visibly in their plant February 1 through April 30 of the year following the year covered by the form. The purpose of the survey is to present the top-performing companies with a Safety Award Certificate that can be proudly displayed in their company, as well as provide the composite data that will allow them to represent the member with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
