Booth W-432179: For complex machining operations, the state-of-the-art Quantum minimum quantity lubrication system from Unist, interfaces directly to machines to give shops reliable digital control of cutting lubrication down to a fraction of a drop to fine-tune machining processes, accurately measure and control usage, and share settings between multiple machines.

In Booth W-432179, Unist, Inc. (Grand Rapids, MI) showcases their state-of-the-art Quantum™ system, a leap forward in minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) technology that interfaces directly to machines to give shops control down to a fraction of a drop to fine-tune machining processes, accurately measure and control usage, and share settings between multiple machines. The Quantum is designed for complex operations and gives reliable, digital control of cutting lubrication. When used with a Spindle Kit, a shop gets the full benefits of through-spindle MQL. And since this system supports up to six independent outputs, it is the perfect choice when using external spray nozzles in addition to through-spindle lubrication. The system can be controlled through discrete signals, but the real benefit comes when controlling the unit though its command based RS-232 interface which gives a shop a virtually unlimited number of MQL rates. The exact oil and air wanted can be specified at any time and in any place in a CNC program.

The Quantum is built to perform in demanding industrial applications with tough, durable construction and reliable positive displacement pumps. It features active monitoring with alerts to inform operators when critical issues arise and the ability to set up, store, and select multiple jobs with a simple user interface. Other features include:

  • Integrate easily: Serial or discrete interface.
  • Quantify your lubrication: Digitally-controlled output.
  • Stay informed: Active monitoring.
  • Enjoy the benefits of MQL on your CNC machine.
  • Eliminate flood coolant mess.
  • Increase production rates.
  • Improve surface finish.
