Booth N-236861: The UR+ platform from Universal Robots leverages an ecosystem of third-party developers to deliver plug-and-play products for UR robot arms to make the deployment of the entire robotic application fast and seamless and address one of the most significant stumbling blocks in acquiring and installing robots: the integration of the robot arm with the needed peripherals.

In Booth N-236861, Universal Robots USA, Inc. (Ann Arbor, MI) uses their pioneering collaborative robot arms to lower the automation barrier for shops regarding robotics as costly and complex. The UR+ platform that leverages an ecosystem of third-party developers to deliver plug-and-play products for UR robot arms is their latest initiative to make the deployment of the entire robotic application fast and seamless. A wide range of UR+ certified products will be on display to address one of the most significant stumbling blocks in acquiring and installing robots: the integration of the robot arm with the needed peripherals.

“Having a user-friendly robot arm only goes so far if it doesn’t seamlessly interface with the rest of the robot application,” says Stu Shepherd, the regional sales director of Universal Robots’ Americas division. “Our objective is not only to help end users deploy faster, a significant goal is also to help developers streamline product development and get their products to market quicker. “Before UR+, it wasn’t unusual to see developers trying to reinvent the wheel by developing similar products for the UR robots in each their own silo. With UR+, the integrators and developers can now collaborate and leverage product knowledge from each other and thereby offer better UR+ products. It’s really a win-win-win situation for the end user, the developer and for us.”
