Airgas, Inc. (Radnor, PA), an Air Liquide company, pledged to continue their support of Operation Homefront, a non-profit organization providing military families with programs that offer relief, resiliency and recurring support during difficult periods. Since 2008, they have directly donated $1 million in support of Operation Homefront and thousands of Airgas associates across the country have been involved in local activities and fundraisers to support the organization, including donation drives, golf and bowling tournaments, 5K walks and raffles.
The company has supported veterans and military families throughout their history and continues to actively recruit employees with military experience, and to incorporate policies and provide tools to support employees currently in the service:
- Since 2008, Airgas has hired more than 1,000 veterans and has offered their “Welding 101” training program free to veterans.
- Airgas Merchant Gases, a business unit within the company, recently signed a Statement of Support with the Texas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense program, further demonstrating the company’s support of the Guard and Reserve and the Airgas employees who serve in both organizations.
“We’re proud to support military families within Airgas and in the communities in which we operate,” said Andy Cichocki, the chief operations officer of Airgas. “We hope our continued financial support and employee engagement will help Operation Homefront provide vital aid to military families during stressful times.”
“We are thrilled to celebrate a decade of working closely with them and their employees to meet the needs of our military families who are struggling to make ends meet,” added Brig. Gen. (ret) John I. Pray Jr., the president and chief executive officer of Operation Homefront. “We are deeply grateful for their continued commitment to care for those who have served all of us, and look forward to many more years of working together to help this very special and deserving group of our fellow Americans have an opportunity to thrive in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.”
