CAMplete Solutions Inc. (Kannapolis, NC), has partnered with the Haas F1 Team in the FIA Formula One World Championship to provide support in 5-axis machining and machine simulation. “Every program created in our shop is posted and simulated in CAMplete TruePath,” said Greg Syverson, the CNC shop manager for the Haas F1 Team. “It has been invaluable for helping us achieve successful, unattended machining of complex components made specifically for wind-tunnel testing on our 60 percent scale-model car.” Real-time simulation shows the shop how their programs will operate in the real world. Problems can be identified and corrected before a program is ever sent to a milling machine. Simulating the true machine path allows operators to isolate 5-axis deviation errors, eliminating guess work. This is crucial in the high-tech world of Formula One, where tolerances are incredibly tight and success or failure is determined by thousandths of a second.
“We are thrilled about our partnership with the Haas F1 Team,” said Jeff Fritsch, the vice president of sales and marketing at CAMplete. “Formula One is more than an exciting worldwide sporting event watched by millions, it is also one of the most technically challenging fields of engineering. Knowing the complex nature of the work done by the Haas F1 Team, we are proud that our software systems are providing this team with the tools they need to compete at the highest level. We are excited for the challenges ahead and look forward to supporting and growing with the Haas F1 Team in the FIA Formula One World Championship.”
