Hoffmann Wins German Design Awards

Their GARANT ToolCar roller cabinet, GARANT magnet measuring stand, and GARANT cross-cut saw win awards.

Posted: December 19, 2018

Three GARANT products from the Hoffmann Group were awarded with the German Design Award: Their ToolCar roller cabinet from the GridLine series and the magnet measuring stand were declared winners of the “Workshop and Tools” category. Their cross-cut saw with cross ground also received a “Special Mention.”
The modern, robust design of the highly functional ToolCar can be tailored to specific needs. Its ergonomic two-component handle allows easy and quick movement from place to place, and a central locking system reliably interlocks the drawers and side compartments.
The hydraulic magnet measuring stand is designed for holding and positioning dial indicators and lever dial indicators. Its hydraulic central lock and rubberized handwheel provide even fixing of all joint. It runs smoothly and comfortably during operation.
The compact cross-cut saw is a folding saw with an ergonomic two-component handle that fits firmly and securely in the hand for optimal torque transmission. Its different adjustable saw blade angles use trapezoidal teeth positioning. A resistant thin layer coating dramatically reduces friction and sawdust adhesion for quick, straight cuts.

The Hoffmann Group (Munich, Germany) has once again won the German Design Award 2019: Their GARANT ToolCar roller cabinet from the GridLine series and the GARANT magnet measuring stand were declared winners of the “Workshop and Tools” category. The GARANT cross-cut saw with cross ground also received a “Special Mention.” All three products impressed the international jury with a sophisticated design that combines functionality and aesthetics equally. The ToolCar and the magnet measuring stand won the iF DESIGN Award at the start of 2018, and the ToolCar also won the Red Dot Award.

According to the jury, the ToolCar features a modern, robust design that goes hand-in-hand with a high level of functionality. The different modules allow users to create a set-up tailored to their needs: an optional power supply with Schuko sockets delivers electricity for power tools and illumination; protectors shield trolleys and components from damage; perforated panels and LED lamps allow this product to be used as a versatile work station. An ergonomic two-component handle allows the ToolCar to be moved easily and quickly from place to place, and a central locking system reliably interlocks the drawers and side compartments.

A formal and functionally tidy design is also what made the hydraulic magnet measuring stand a winner. Designed for holding and positioning dial indicators and lever dial indicators, this stand features a hydraulic central lock as well as a rubberized handwheel for even fixing of all joints. According to the jury, its striking design imparts a professional, high quality and modern appearance that amply fulfills expectations of precision and quality, while running smoothly and comfortably during operation.

The compact cross-cut saw is a folding saw that impressed the jury with its ergonomic two-component handle that fits firmly and securely in the hand, allowing for optimal torque transmission. The different adjustable saw blade angles were also assessed as “very good.” With trapezoidal teeth positioning, the saw has a resistant thin layer coating to dramatically reduce friction and sawdust adhesion that makes the saw especially suitable for quick, straight cuts.
