Double-ended inserts in the SE Monoblock Holder for the SE grooving and part-off system from ARNO ensure high productivity machining operations in radial grooving and parting-off applications. The “double V” insert seat design guarantees an accurate and secure location. In combination with a fixed stop, it ensures precise insert repeatability. This series is available in a wide variety of tooling configurations and sizes, including inserts with groove widths from .079 in to .236 in.

The SE grooving and part-off system from ARNO-Werkzeuge USA LLC (Harvard, IL) is a cutting tool and insert system that optimizes turning, grooving, parting-off and copy turning operations. Its SE Monoblock Holder features double-ended inserts for high productivity machining operations. The “double V” insert seat design guarantees an accurate and secure location. In combination with a fixed stop, it ensures precise insert repeatability The SE groove and groove turning cutting tool system is economical and efficient for radial grooving and parting-off applications. This series is available in a wide variety of tooling configurations and sizes, including inserts with groove widths from .079 in to .236 in (2 mm to 6 mm) with three geometries and available in five different grades. The geometries and grades available include:

  • M2 sintered geometry is designed especially for grooving, turning and copy turning in steel and stainless steel materials.
  • T1 sintered geometry is for machining steels and stainless steel materials and universal geometry. Also suitable for thin wall machining.
  • ALU high precision ground geometry is available for non-ferrous materials (aluminum – plastics).

Shank sizes range from 5/8 in, ¾ in and 1 in (12 mm, 16 mm, 20 mm and 25 mm) and depth capacity of either .472 in or .827 in (12 mm or 21 mm). The Monoblock Holder design increases machining performance and reliability and provides user-friendly operation. This SE groove turn system offers machine shops other features and benefits, which include:

  • Active insert clamping with fixed stop for accurate insert positioning.
  • Directly pressed inserts with dedicated geometries for a cost-efficient, optimum solution for reliable groove production.
  • The ground version is an ideal choice for non-ferrous materials with sharp edge inserts and polished tops for better chip flow. Excellent for machining aluminum and plastics.
  • Geometries for cutting steel and stainless steel.
  • Strong cutting edge for maximum feed rates and cutting depths.

The SE system offers ACS (ARNO Coolant System), a new technology in monoblock holders that provides tool coolant directly and totally unhindered to the cutting edge for maximum tool life and performance. ACS ensures that the coolant flow is directly, more accurately and efficiently underneath the chip to considerably improve tool life.
