To improve production processes, ensure quality and save cost and time, the i-FACT™ intelligent robotic inspection system from Servo-Robot Inc. (Saint-Bruno, QC) automatically digitizes joint and bead surfaces to provide geometric data and detect weld defects. This system includes a high speed, high precision laser-camera designed to be integrated to an articulated robot, and also includes a processing unit that analyzes the 3D data using a powerful image processor. A dedicated database memorizes all data for traceability and further analysis of potential welding defects and/or non-conformities to applicable welding standards. The i-FACT system also provides Go/No-Go real-time information based on the manufacturer’s own quality criteria, which are freely programmable into the system via a user-friendly HMI. The i-FACT system is IoT ready and is capable of being easily interfaced to any robot system or welding/dispensing machine.
