The LSM-6902H Laser Scan Micrometer from Mitutoyo America Corporation (Aurora, IL) is ideal for non-contact, high accuracy measurement of pin gages or plug gages. Its ultra-precise scanning motor enables measurement accuracy down to 0.3 µm with excellent Gage R&R performance because the measurements are non-contact. Standard output is RS-232C with analog I/O, with an optional two-channel Digimatic code output unit available. Thanks to excellent linearity, an accuracy of ±0.5 μm over the entire measuring range and a higher accuracy of ± (0.3+0.1ΔD) µm over a narrow range are guaranteed. Other features include:

- Resolution: 0.01 µm to 10 µm (selectable) (0.000001 in to 0.0005 in).

Mitutoyo also offers the compact U-Wave fit attachment for calipers and micrometers that transmits measurements wirelessly to a PC using the Digimatic protocol. The elimination of long, cumbersome data cables helps improve measurement efficiency and speed while maintaining precise accuracy. This unit’s user-friendly interface allows data to be loaded into any software product that accepts keyboard input. Named for its comfortable, ergonomic design, the U-Wave fit quickly and easily installs for over 1,600 different Mitutoyo calipers and micrometers. The U-Wave fit is available in IP67 and buzzer types for 4 in, 6 in, 8 in and 12 in IP67 calipers, standard calipers and coolant-proof (IP65) micrometers. During standard operation, the U-Wave fit has a wireless range of 20 m (60 ft) and its 220 mAH battery lasts for over 400,000 transmissions. Its Digimatic2 communication format is high resolution and sends polarity and the unit of measure.
