The versatile Model 1673 portable expander, reducer, and swaging machine from Huth Ben Pearson International LLC (Hartford, WI) expands and reduces tubing as well as pipes up to Schedule 40. It will do reductions on outside diameters up to 3 in and expand up to 5½ in. Mounted on its own easy-wheeling cart, it allows operators to perform doming and reducing anywhere. Its tremendous versatility allows it to accomplish almost any expanding application, such as tapers, flares and flanges. Its small footprint makes it a natural for a lean cell operation. The operator can change tooling in less than a minute. “This machine is powerful enough for many pipe fabrication end form applications,” stated Ken Murray, the company president. “Some of the more popular applications that the Model 1673 can be used for are flagpole manufacturing, mounting for industrial and municipal lighting, gate and fence fabrications, agricultural fabrications, electrical conduit fabrications, and much more.”
