How to Efficiently Remove Metal Dust and Abrasive Media Residue

Redesigned Niagara Wet Dust Collectors from Midwest Automation efficiently clean or filter contaminated air in a variety metal grinding, deburring or sanding operations.

Niagara Wet Dust Collectors are specifically designed to efficiently and safely collect metal dust and potentially explosive materials. Dust particles are separated from the air by mixing the contaminated air using water as a filtration media. Baffles create turbulence and divergent forces causing the metal dust to settle to the bottom of the tank as sludge. A special stainless steel secondary filter (mist eliminator) helps prevent moisture laden air or “mist” from entering the plant.

The newly redesigned line of Niagara Wet Dust Collectors from Midwest Automation (Minneapolis, MN) was recently updated to efficiently clean or filter contaminated air in a variety of metal grinding, deburring or sanding operations that create metal dust and other abrasive media residue. These wet dust collectors are specifically designed to efficiently and safely collect metal dust and potentially explosive materials.

Available in three different series with 15 different models, the redesigned dust collector series meets virtually every customer application:

  1. The SSE Series of machines is 100 percent stainless steel construction with electronic high/low water level control, automatic refill, and meets NFPA 484 requirements for combustible metals with the optional NFPA 484 kit. The stainless-steel tank has a five year limited warranty.
  1. The SS Series of machines is also 100 percent stainless steel construction, but utilizes a mechanical high/low water level sensor and automatic refill, reducing the price of these models by approximately 15 percent from the comparable SSE models. These models also include a five-year limited warranty on the tank.
  1. The CS Series of machines is constructed with heavy gauge sheet metal, with all interior surfaces coated with a special cross-linked epoxy-phenolic material that is an abrasion-resistant maintenance coating used for tank linings, reducing the price of these models approximately 30 percent from the comparable SSE model. It also includes a mechanical high/low water level sensor and automatic refill and carries a standard one-year limited warranty on the tank and other components.

All Niagara models are manufactured in the U.S. and designed to meet NFPA electrical standards.
