Mazak Corporation (Florence, KY) announced that Knox Machinery (Franklin, OH) will represent them as their southern Ohio distributor, effective immediately. An integral part of Ohio’s manufacturing sector for more than two decades, Knox Machinery’s addition will help ensure that customers have access to the highest level of service in Cincinnati, Dayton and across southern Ohio. Knox Machinery has made customer service their first priority since their founding in 1996: To live up to their “Knox Circle” concept – a comprehensive approach to service that supports customers from initial sales through the lifetime of the equipment – the distributor employs eight service engineers and maintains a company culture focused on meeting customers’ specific needs.
“With this combination of their support in tandem with that of our service engineers in the region, we are ideally situated to provide the utmost service for new machine purchases as well as support the existing requirements of our large installed base of machines in the Southern Ohio area,” said Terry Peer, the general manager of the North Central region for Mazak.
A family-owned business, Knox Machinery was founded by the company’s namesakes, Greg Knox (the president of the company) and his wife Margie. Knox garnered his initial experience with a Detroit-based machine tool distributor prior to starting his own venture in Ohio. In addition to their focus on machine tool sales and outstanding customer service, the company is also heavily involved in the local community, including everything from team members’ leadership of Dayton’s SME chapter to sponsorship of robotics building competitions, such as Sinclair Community College’s TechFest.
“We are looking forward to a productive relationship with Mazak and one that will truly benefit all local area manufacturers,” said Greg Knox. “Not only will it provide easy access to the expansive range of their machine tool technology from two-axis turning centers to multi-tasking systems, but also to application and training support from their National Technology Center located close by on their iSMART Factory campus in Florence.
