Fabrication Bending Made Easy

In Booth D-46426, Huth-Ben Pearson International, LLC (Hartford, WI) will feature their Fabrication Benders (Models 2650, 2660) and their newly-designed Power-Slotter Accessory. The “Fab Benders” were recently designed for manufacturers who bend tube and pipe as part of their finished product manufacturing. Fabricators using tubing for product frame construction are a special emphasis. These new benders are perfect for the manufacturing of many structures and frames: trailer frames, building frames, carports and sporting equipment, to name a few. Agriculture applications, such as feed rings, fencing and gates, panels and saddle racks, lawn furniture and greenhouses, are all made easily. “These machines have the ability to bend square, round and rectangular pipe and tubing, and even solid bar!” stated Ken Murray, the president of Huth-Ben Pearson, discussing their versatility. “They are able to handle schedule/thick wall pipe with ease.”

These Fabrication Benders are powered by a 7½ hp motor and users have a choice of two different hydraulic cylinders: The Model 2650 has a 5 in hydraulic cylinder with 58,000 lb of bending force, while the Model 2660 comes with a 6 in cylinder with 85,000 lb of bending force. The large flow capacity and ten-gallon hydraulic fluid reservoir allows them to run continuously cool through multiple shifts. They are priced very reasonably and, with a small footprint, are perfect for a lean plant environment.

Also on display will be the new tube Power-Slotter that makes tube slotting really easy. It attaches to a Huth hydraulic expander cylinder that can be found on many of their bender models, as well as free-standing expanders and swagers, through an available arbor tool. The standard slot size is 1 in by 1/8 in is available from stock, but custom tooling is available to handle custom slot sizes. It even includes a built-in slot positioning system to allow the operator to accurately place the slots on any tube diameter. “It handles all types of tube diameters, even really big ones, and handles stainless steel like butter,” adds Murray. “It is very easy to set up and easy to use.”
