The manual NDT Sweeper Scanner from Zetec Inc. (Snoqualmie, WA) can replace multiple specialized scanners, lowering costs and reducing the amount of equipment needed to conduct inspections in oil and gas, aerospace, and other applications.
Two integrated encoders ensure precise 2D scanning. The unit supports two phased array probes simultaneously for pitch-catch ultrasonic inspections; the individual probe suspension can be fixed axially or laterally. Easy to deploy and able to encode in raster scan across long distances, the unit excels in providing C-Scan mapping of large components.
Non-marring wheels with integrated magnets make the scanner safe to use on materials including composites and steel. The wheels are optimized for easy movement in the scan and index direction.
With a compact, lightweight, and ergonomic design, the scanner can cover hard-to-reach areas. It’s perfectly suited to ultrasonic inspections ranging from long-seam welds to corrosion mapping and other demanding nondestructive (NDT) applications.
