Assembly Robots Handle 55-lb and 88-lb Payloads

With longer reach and heavier weight capacities, Denso Robotics’ VM-VL series excels in large part assembly, long-reach computer tool tending, palletizing and depalletizing, material removal and deburring, and 3D bin picking. The two models also feature enhanced internal wiring for safer, more efficient operations.

The VM-VL series of assembly robots from Denso Robotics hold up in harsh conditions where, for example, oil residue and water vapor are present. Payloads range from 55 lbs to 88 lbs. Reach ranges from nearly 5 ft to more than 8 ft.

Denso Robotics (Anaheim, CA) plans to release in summer 2020 two assembly robots designed for large part manufacturing, transportation, warehousing, and other industrial applications.

VM robots handle payloads up to 55 lb (25 kg) and come in two models: one with a maximum arm reach of nearly 5 ft (1.5 m) and one with a maximum arm reach of nearly 6 ft (1.8 m). The VL robot handles payloads of up to 88 lb (40 kg) with a maximum arm reach of more than 8 ft (2.5 m).

Features include enhanced internal wiring for safer, more efficient operations; Denso’s easy-to-use RC9 programmable logic controller (PLC); and WINCAPS Plus, Denso’s software for optimizing 3D visual programming, motion planning,  and position guidance. WINCAPS Plus supports five languages: English, Japanese, Chinese, German and Korean.

VM-VL applications include large part assembly, long reach computer tool tending, palletizing and depalletizing, material removal and deburring, and 3D bin picking. Additionally, VM models are designed for use in cleanroom settings such as electronics, pharmaceutical, biomedical, food processing, aerospace, technology, and other industries with stringent sanitation requirements. VL models meet resistance standards for automation in harsh environments, such as where oil residue and water vapor are present.
