The Model GTU-500 tilter from Southworth Products Corp. (Portland, ME) is the fast, efficient way to get items from gaylords and other large containers on to conveyors and automated sortation systems.
The unit tilts containers up to 110 degrees to provide controlled emptying of contents and has 500 lbs. of capacity when fully tilted. Pan-style platform that sits flush with the floor when lowered allows gaylords to be placed and retrieved by a hand pallet truck – no forklift necessary. A steel retention bar prevents gaylords from falling even when the unit is tilted the full 110 degrees.
The 50-inch-by-50-inch platform easily accommodates gaylords on 48-inch-by-48-inch pallets. Measuring 62-1/2 inches by 66 inches, the tilter can be deployed in confined spaces.
Tilt angle is operator-adjustable via a foot control switch. A 1-hp power unit operates on 115/1/60 power.
When standard products aren’t appropriate, the company’s engineers work closely with systems integrators to customize unloading solutions depending on required capacity, container dimensions, dumping speed, electrical controls, and facility restrictions (ceiling height, etc.).
