Mill Just About Anywhere with Single-Phase CNC Machine

When introduced in 2016, Datron Dynamics’ neo used three-phase power. Now, an internally contained transformer provides single-phase power to minimize the CNC milling machine’s footprint while maximizing installation options.

A single-phase power supply unit for Datron Dynamics’ neo CNC milling machine allows for atypical installations in spaces like office buildings, labs, and garages.

Since its introduction to the North American market in July 2016, machinists in the aerospace, government, technology, and jewelry industries have used the affordable-but-powerful neo CNC milling machine from Datron Dynamics Inc. (Milford, NH) to improve workflow and increase productivity. Featuring a 40,000-rpm spindle and 24-station automatic tool changer, the machine mills materials up to 20 inches by 16.5 inches by 9 inches.

Almost immediately thereafter, the company began working on a single-phase power solution that would enable the machine to be used in spaces like office buildings, labs, and garages. Housed in the front cabinet to minimize the machine’s footprint, an autotransformer takes and evenly distributes 208V or 240V to each segment of a machine to ensure uninterrupted power during operation.

The single-phase unit is UL-, CSA-, and CE-certified.
