Contour Grind from The Solid to Profile Depths of Up To 15 MM
The U.S. arm of the German firm LACH-Form GmbH & Co. Diamond Engineering KG, Lach Diamond has manufactured polycrystalline diamond (PCD) and cubic boron nitride (CBN) tooling for metalworking since 1973.

Lach Diamond Inc. (Grand Rapids, MI) offers many ways to profit from polycrystalline diamond’s (PCD) superior hardness when grinding centering tips, bezels, and prisms; bearing shells, templates, and guide rulers; PCD-tipped knives for plastic granulates; and diamond-coated guide elements for the paper and printing industries.
For example, newly developed bond variations are available for profiling during deep grinding of carbide, high-alloyed steel, ceramics and, in a special specification, unhardened steel. As a result, time-intensive conventional grinding procedures or jobs that required several diamond and CBN grinding wheels can be accomplished with one wheel.
With profile depths up to 15 mm, contour-profiled grinding wheels provide repeatable precision cuts in mass production. The innovative metal bond ensures there’s no impact on tool life even at full feed rate. The wheels can be resharpened with Lach Diamond’s mini-contour machine, which produces high-precision concave and convex profiles from 2 µ to 4 µ.
Products for dressing of grinding wheels comprises single-point dressers such as the Diaform chisel as well as sintered multi-point diamond dressers and aggregates. These include the Dia-Fliese-perfect; drebojet-plus, a diamond dressing roll system for CNC-controlled dressing/profiling of conventional and CBN grinding wheels; and rotary-dress diamond dressing rolls.
