SIC Marking USA (Pittsburgh, PA) expands its range of dot peen marking machines with the high-speed i-speed, which uses continuous vibrating technology to mark parts in a continuous line at up to 10 characters per second. Its pneumatic stylus eliminates the problem of overheating, allowing the machine to be used at very high speeds.
The weightless stylus makes it possible to optimize the mechanics and consequently to obtain significant gains in size (218 mm x 107 mm x 62 mm) and weight (1.7 kg). The mechanical precision of the X and Y axes provides high-quality results.
These features make the i-speed particularly suitable for fully automated production lines, such as in automotive equipment applications or profile manufacturing.
“We were contacted to mark a 15-digit identification number on headrests,” says SIC Marking Export Sales Engineer Thomas Denis of an Italian automotive supplier specializing in headrests and armrests. “The marking head on our i53 machine, which is usually used for this type of application, was slightly too long. Tests of the i-speed that were validated by the customer made it possible to confirm the stylus assembly corresponding to the customer’s requirements.”
