Lifting Solution for Social Distancing Requirements

Syclone ATTCO Service’s lightweight, infinitely configurable Sky Hook fills the gap between a chain hoist and an overhead or portable gantry crane. The company has waived expedite charges; cleanroom modifications meet wide variety of work environment needs.

More than half of Syclone ATTCO Service’s business is designing custom lifting solutions based on the single-operator Sky Hook. Every base configuration is available in an Economy (which uses a friction brake) and Premium (which uses a LoadLock clutch brake) version.

Maintaining efficiency with a limited or restricted workforce has never been more paramount. With the advent of the novel coronavirus, many companies temporarily closed their doors or severely curtailed operations to minimize the spread of COVID-19 among employees, customers, suppliers, and communities.

Essential businesses like metal fabrication and machining companies, however, don’t have that luxury. Manufacturers all over the country are in full swing bringing medical supplies, equipment, and other necessities to market as quickly as possible. However, maintaining 6 feet between employees can make vital operations challenging or impossible to perform safely.

Two-person lifts are prohibited due to the close quarters between employees. It may be three to four months before a new overhead crane that’s expensive and requires training is delivered and installed. How to maintain operational efficiency while meeting safety and ergonomic standards?

The single-operator Sky Hook is a customizable and safe lifting solution. Manufactured by Syclone ATTCO Service (Letha, ID) since 1969, the device is OSHA- and ASME-compliant and easily integrates into factory operations. The lightweight, ergonomic design enables one employee to perform critical lifts instead of in a team, which would violate proximity policies many state and local governments and companies have implemented.

The Sky Hook fills the gap between a chain hoist and an overhead or portable gantry crane. Many companies have implemented mandates restricting individual lift limitations to 35 pounds. The 23-pound Sky Hook lifts up to 500 pounds, doing the work of four employees with a simple one-hand operation. A  wide range of mounts (tool post, bench, receiver hitch, floor, wheeled, mobile cart) and accessories like an articulating arm enable the company to configure a solution for virtually any application.

Syclone ATTCO Service has waived expedite charges on both custom and standard units so customers can quickly obtain a lifting solution. In addition, cleanroom modifications allow products to adapt to a variety of work environments.
