Small-Footprint Part Loader Increases CNC Machine Productivity

Offering a payload of 26.45 pounds each, Halter CNC Automation’s three Compact robot models save on factory floor space, making it easier for manufacturers to automate part loading and unloading of lathes and mills.

Dutch manufacturer Halter CNC Automation adds three smaller-payload loaders to its line of robotic arms: the small-footprint TurnStacker Compact for lathes, MillStacker Compact for mills, and general-purpose Universal Compact.

Using a robot place to place a workpiece inside a CNC machine increases productivity, protects workers from injury, and enables unmanned lights-out production. To meet the increasing demand for smaller robotic loaders, Halter CNC Automation (Cascade, IA) is expanding its product line with three 26.45-pound-payload models. The Compact series is the smallest in the company’s product line, which already includes models with 44-, 75-, and 154-pound payloads.

The three Halter Compact models are:

  • TurnStacker Compact for lathes, which accommodates diameters up to 6.29 inches (160 mm)
  • MillStacker Compact for milling machines, which accommodates diameters  up to 7.87 inches (200 mm)
  • Universal Compact, a general-purpose robotic arm with long-shaft option that accommodates workpieces up to 9.84 inches (250 mm).

All three can be moved with a pallet truck. The company is offering a free three-month trial.
