Bystronic Enters Automated Welding Market

Bystronic is selling three robotic welding options – Micro Cell, Compact Cell and Compact System – in the U.S. They’re configured by the German manufacturer Cloos Robotic Welding, which handles installation, training, and service.

Bystronic’s selling three Cloos Robotic Welding robotic welding cells in the U.S. Clamping lengths range from 110 to 276 inches; load capacities, from 560 pounds to 2.2 tons.

Bystronic Inc. (Hoffman Estates, IL) is selling three robotic welding cell options in the U.S. comprising the weld positioner, controller, power source, and RoboPlan QRP Professional offline programming software of the German firm Cloos Robotic Welding Inc. (Schaumburg, IL). Cloos provides installation, training and service.

Each option is designed according to part size and weight and has a two-station workpiece positioner.

Micro Cell: 55-inch clamping length, nominal load capacity of 280 pounds  per side for manual rotating workpiece positioner, 400A power supply.

Compact Cell: 61-inch clamping length, nominal load capacity of 562 pounds per side for automatic rotating workpiece positioner, 450A power supply.

Compact System: 138-inch clamping length; nominal load capacity of 2,248 pounds per side for the automatic rotating workpiece positioner; 450A power supply.

All models feature integrated safety system including nozzle search and anti-collision sensors, interlocked doors, safety enclosures with operator window, and when required, safety fencing and light curtain barriers.

The Compact Cell and Compact System include automatic thru-arc seam tracking. Forklift pockets on the Micro Cell and Compact Cell facilitate installation.
