Jungheinrich’s dual-mode EZS 350a NA automated guided vehicle (AGV) provides all the benefits of an electric truck with a laser-based navigation platform that requires no floor work.

The EZS 350a NA automated guided vehicle (AGV) from Jungheinrich AG (Hamburg, Germany) adds precision navigation technology to the company’s standard electric truck to provide transport automatically or manually in mixed operations with manual trucks and pedestrians. The AGV is built on the company’s EZS 350NA/EZS 350XL electric tow tractor, which offers benefits of a standard truck: 24-V 3-phase AC drive motor, maintenance-free drive motor and award-winning automotive-style jetPILOT steering wheel.

The unit uses laser navigation, so no floor work is required. Reflectors are attached to objects, such as racking, columns and walls, along the vehicle’s travel route. The high degree of precision allows for pinpoint accuracy in the positioning of trucks and loads at defined stations.

Jungheinrich’s AGV system can easily be integrated into a manufacturer’s existing IT and software landscape. The existing WLAN structure is used for communication with the EZS 350a NA. If an existing host system, such as a WMS or ERP platform, is to be used, the AGV can be connected via Jungheinrich’s Logistics Interface.

Optional comfort terminal enables employees to determine and enter the next destination with one click at the truck.

Carries 6,600 pounds on a level surface.
