“We are excited to have an optimistic outlook for an in-person event for Fabtech 2021,” said Gary W. Konarska II, executive director and CEO of the American Welding Society (AWS).
Attendees looking to maintain their certification or earn PDHs towards their professional license can plan to attend the AWS Welding Track program. Led by industry experts, it focuses on best practices and new developments in the welding and manufacturing industry. “We’re offering our world-class educational programming for you to learn from subject matter experts on a variety of welding-related topics,” Konarska said. “AWS will also be showcasing its full suite of products and services to help the welding community, and I encourage you to stop by our booth to learn more about how AWS can support your personal and professional growth.”
Located at B-25008, the AWS booth allows attendees to learn about the AWS, about how it can help welders and welding professionals advance their careers through education and certification, about how attendees can save on AWS products and services by becoming members, and about much more.
Fabtech attendees can also take advantage of savings to stay up-to-date with the latest publications by visiting the AWS Bookstore, located at B-27008. AWS will be offering 40 percent off all AWS publications and toolkits, excluding replicas or third-party publications. Stop by early because supplies are limited.
While walking the show floor, attendees can stop by the AWS Foundation’s Careers in Welding Mobile Exhibit, located in the Welding Pavilion, and can try their hand at virtual welding. Sponsored by Lincoln Electric, the 53-foot trailer will provide information about career opportunities in the welding field and a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship. The trailer is also debuting “Metal Maiden,” a metal-art sculpture in the likeness of the Statue of Liberty, created by Stephanie Hoffman and Barbie the Welder as part of the AWS Arc 2 Art project.
Besides special events hosted by Fabtech, AWS is offering 1) an after-hours networking event for young and seasoned professionals, 2) panel discussions with expert panelists, and more. AWS also encourages attendees to watch as Jason Becker, host of the Arc Junkies podcast, broadcasts live from the AWS booth every morning throughout the show.
