Mazak to Hold Technology Event in Late October in Kentucky
Mazak Corp. (Florence, KY) has announced that DISCOVER, the company’s technology and education event, will include all-new machines and technological firsts.
Posted: October 6, 2021
For example, a new Swiss-type machine series will debut at the event, which will be held Oct. 25-29 at Mazak’s U.S. headquarters in Florence, KY. According to Mazak, this new machine series expands the options that today’s manufacturers have in high-volume, small-part processing.
Also at DISCOVER 2021 are the next-generation NEO versions of Mazak’s HCN series of horizontal machining centers and VARIAXIS series of vertical machining centers, including the HCN-6800 NEO and the VARIAXIS i-800 NEO. Each sports a fully redesigned enclosure and sports improvements throughout to provide fast, optimal solutions for a wider range of part-production applications.
With its upgrades, the HCN-6800 NEO takes the previous generation’s performance to a new level of efficiency and ease of use, according to Mazak. Upgraded elements of the machine include the spindle, table, and magazine. The new, standard 43-tool, drum-type magazine reduces tool exchange times.
Also, the machine has a maintenance panel that’s easier to access and a faster, servo-driven ATC door that now accommodates longer tools. As an option, Mazak offers a direct-drive motor table for fast indexing time and rotary scales for high-accuracy positioning.
Mazak’s next-generation VARIAXIS i-800 NEO 5-axis machine features faster rapid traverse rates for shorter machining cycle times, expanded workpiece capacities, and more automation options. Automation options include a two-pallet changer, along with the Mazak Multi-Pallet Pool (MPP) compact multiple pallet stocker system and the modular Mazak PALLETECH System.
Mazak will demonstrate several models from its new Ez series of horizontal turning machines and vertical machining centers. The Ez machines feature the new MAZATROL SmoothEz CNC. Mazak will also spotlight several machines its new INTEGREX i-H series.
Attendees can learn about Mazak’s new MPower program, too. When machine service is needed, the online portal enables shops to open a case, receive immediate notification of when a service technician is available, or resolve the issue over the phone with tech support. Once an in-person service call is scheduled, shops can track the status of an existing work order or the arrival of a service technician.
People can register to attend DISCOVER 2021 by visiting Mazak’s website.
